Sales Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Sales Assistant to join our team at the garden centre. As a Shop Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the garden centre.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, providing guidance and advice on plant care, product selection, and gardening essentials.
Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our Shopify and iZettle systems, including handling cash and card payments.
Maintain an organized and visually appealing store environment by restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring products are properly labeled and priced.
Monitor inventory levels, communicate low stock items to the manager, and assist with receiving and unpacking new shipments.
Contribute to the cleanliness and tidiness of the garden centre, including regular cleaning of surfaces, sweeping, and maintaining the overall presentation of the store.
Assist with plant care tasks, such as watering, pruning, and repotting plants, ensuring their health and attractiveness.
Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions, products, and industry trends to provide accurate information to customers.
Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure a positive and cohesive work environment, supporting each other in day-to-day tasks and projects.

Skills & Qualifications:

Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Basic knowledge of plants, gardening tools, and gardening essentials.
Experience with point-of-sale systems, preferably Shopify and iZettle, or a willingness to learn.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Effective communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.

Positive and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine passion for plants and gardening.
Reliability and punctuality to ensure assigned shifts are covered consistently.
Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
